Which of the 84 learners in the three September cohorts are off track, why, and who has to act: causes only Kittridge can fix go to Kittridge, not to the learners. Prepared by Joaquin Ibarra, program operations director at Saltbridge Academy, for Olivia Holloway, head of learning and development at Kittridge Hotels Group. The records are as of Monday, September 28, 2026. The next review is before module 3 starts on October 12.

How the 13 exceptions split

Every exception on the board has one main cause. Nine learners missed two or more sessions, and four have not submitted the first assignment. Of the nine, five missed sessions because their hotel changed their shifts after the session was booked, two were on planned leave and two were caught in a hotel's busiest weeks.

The five shift conflicts are the ones the program team could not see. Joaquin Ibarra grouped the 13 learners by cause and sent the shift conflicts to Kittridge for action instead of chasing the learners, because a learner cannot fix a rota.

The exception board

The board lists the 13 learners, one row each, with status, priority, cohort, hotel, facilitator, attendance rate, assignments complete and the support need in plain words. Needs support (9 learners) means the learner missed two or more sessions. At risk (4 learners) means the first assignment is not submitted. Joaquin owns all 13 records. Five are High priority, six Medium and two Low, and the five High rows are the five shift conflicts, so start there.

Who owns each cause

Joaquin owns every record on the board. The owner below is the person or group who can remove the cause, which is not always Saltbridge Academy.

Five shift conflicts the program team could not see

Five of the nine learners who missed sessions missed them because a hotel changed their shifts after the session was booked. The program team has no view of hotel rotas, so these absences looked like disengagement until Joaquin grouped them by cause. Chasing the learners would not change a rota, so the request went to Kittridge for action instead.Consequence: if shift cover is not agreed before module 3 starts on October 12, the same five learners miss another session. Sunniva Eide is at 33 percent attendance, which is the lowest rate on the board and is shared with two other Cohort C learners, while Zofia Krol and Valentin Dupuis are at 50 percent.

Hotels with two or more learners on the board

Six hotels have at least one learner on the board and five have two or more. Seafront and Pier Head have three each; Coastguard, Airport and Saltings have two each. Old Town has one.

  • Seafront (3): Yvette Laurent, Zofia Krol and Sunniva Eide, one in each cohort, all after hotel shift changes. One conversation with the Seafront general manager covers all three. - Pier Head (3): Isolde Brandvold and Valentin Dupuis after shift changes, and Ignatius Fairley on planned leave. - Coastguard (2): Odile Mercier and Matthias Gruber, both workload, both raised with the general manager. - Airport (2): Emrys Vaughan on planned leave, and Rupert Hallam with the first assignment not submitted. - Saltings (2): Constance Abara and Bartholomew Achterberg, both with the first assignment not submitted and due on Sep 25.
