Kittridge new manager program sponsor review, Aug 24 to Sep 28

Owner: Joaquin Ibarra. Updated Oct 1, 2026.
Review at a glance
One record of what happened in the Kittridge new manager program from August 24 to September 28, 2026: attendance, assignments and completions, with what is not measured marked as not measured. Prepared by Joaquin Ibarra, program operations director at Saltbridge Academy, for Olivia Holloway, head of learning and development at Kittridge Hotels Group, ahead of the 2027 budget discussion. The pilot cohort that finished on August 21 is included. Figures come from the same learner and action records the program team works from.
What happened
Attendance by cohort
Attendance fell over the first five sessions in Cohorts A and B, from 96 to 80 in Cohort A and from 95 to 80 in Cohort B, and Cohort A came back to 88 at its sixth session. Cohort B has had five sessions and Cohort C four, from 97 to 86. The completion rule looks at each learner's own attendance across the program, so a session at 80 is a watch point and not a breach. The note on the chart is the shift conflicts: five learners missed sessions after hotel shift changes, the same five who sit on the exception board.
Average attendance across the three cohorts: 88, against the 80 percent the completion rule needs
Hotels
Each point is one of the 28 Kittridge hotels, with attendance across and assignments done up. Seafront sits at 88 on attendance and 77 on assignments done, and it also has three learners on the exception board, all after hotel shift changes. Read the chart as a reason to talk with a hotel's general manager, not as a ranking. Hotels differ in size and the points are not adjusted for it.
Measured and not measured
The table separates what the record can support from what it cannot. A line marked Not measured is not an estimate with a caveat. It is a gap.
| Measure | Status | What the record shows | What it can and cannot say |
|---|---|---|---|
| Attendance at live sessions | Average 88 percent across the three cohorts, every live session through Sep 28 | Who came to which session. It does not say what was learned. | |
| Learners on track | 71 of 84 on track; 13 on the exception board, each with a cause | Who needs action and who owns it. | |
| First assignment submitted | Four learners have not submitted it | A work gap in four learners, not a quality judgment. | |
| Pilot completion against the rule | 19 of 24, or 79 percent; 3 wait for a sign-off; 2 are short on attendance | The pilot cohort only. The three current cohorts have not finished. | |
| Sponsor actions | 2 of 6 done; the oldest open 16 days | What Kittridge owes the program, and for how long. | |
| Completion of Cohorts A, B and C | Target completion on Dec 4, Dec 11 and Dec 18 | Nothing yet. It can be reported only after each cohort finishes. | |
| Link to manager retention | No retention data in the program record | Nothing. No figure, estimate or trend is stated. |
Retention is not measured
Kittridge asked for a link between the program and manager retention. The program records attendance, assignments and completions. It holds no retention figures for Kittridge managers, so Joaquin Ibarra showed the results that were measured and marked retention as not measured instead of estimating it.Even with retention data from Kittridge, a comparison would show whether managers who took part stayed, not why they stayed. Next step: agree with Olivia Holloway which retention data Kittridge can share for the January review, for example counts of first-time managers who left, by cohort and hotel, with names kept inside Kittridge.
Questions for next year
I would rather take a page to finance that says retention is not measured than a number nobody can check. Tell me what data you need from us and I will find out what we can share.
