Prepared by Callum, member services lead at the Workplace Safety Coordinators Association, for the Basalt Creek group administrator, Leonard Kalnins. It covers the 19 requests received from July 8 to September 28, 2026: access, certificate corrections, policy questions and roster changes.

Requests by type and state

Access and certificate corrections are where the two aged requests sit. Policy questions and roster changes each have one request open, and both have an owner. Every other request in the four groups is answered.

Open requests and renewal items

Every open item has a status. Owned and In progress mean a named person has it. Waiting for employer means nothing moves until you act, and the Due column shows the date by which it should. Four member requests and the roster review are listed below.

The five records below are the ones the group administrator acts on or is waiting for.

From received to answered

Nineteen requests came in. Two are open with an owner and two aged without one, which leaves 15 answered. The aged requests are counted on their own because the delay is the finding, not the outcome.

Ownership rule

Details
On receiptThe request is logged the same business day and one named person owns it. A shared inbox or a group is never the owner.
Answer dateThe owner sets an answer date when the request is logged. The usual answer takes 2 business days.
Past 7 days without an ownerCounted as aged and escalated to Adaeze Obiora, who names an owner that day.
Who decides the answerStaff answer from the policy. Policy exceptions go to a committee or a qualified adviser. An authorized person approves the message before it is sent.
Roster changesLeonard Kalnins approves roster additions and removals. Staff add or remove names only after he does.
ClosingA request is closed when the member confirms the answer, or asks again and the request reopens.

Two requests waited more than 7 days without an owner

Certificate name correction. Raised Sep 8 in a personal inbox while a staff member was on leave. It had no owner until Callum took it on Sep 25, 17 days later, and it was 20 days old on Sep 28. Adaeze Obiora decided it needs no committee review. Next step: Callum corrects the certificate and confirms with the member by Oct 7.Community access problem. Raised Sep 14 in the same inbox and taken by Callum on Sep 25. He answered it the same day. It stays In progress until the member confirms that access works, due Oct 7.Consequence. Two members waited with no answer and no name to ask. A named colleague covers each personal inbox during leave and logs any request that arrives there.
