T148 Partner program guide: tiers and commission
Partner program guide: tiers and commission

What the RelayWorks Partner Program pays for a won referral, when it pays, and what each tier asks and adds, with Northgate Operations Advisory's own commission lines as the worked example. Prepared by Devon Acheampong, RelayWorks partner manager, for Lena Marsh, managing partner at Northgate, and the Northgate team. Mei Tanaka, partner operations lead, reviews referrals and approves commission lines; Ruth Adebayo, finance manager, confirms values from the signed order.
Sample template: the firm, people, clients and figures are fictional.
How commission works
A partner refers a company, RelayWorks sells to it, and when the company signs, the partner earns 15 percent of the first-year contract value. Commission is the same at every tier. The tier changes what a partner gets around the referral: leads, a partner manager, campaigns and events.
Northgate's commission lines
Three referrals were won in the last 12 months. Each line shows the value it was calculated on.
| Customer | Product | Signed value | Commission | State |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Calder Freight Services | RelayWorks Business | $48,000 | $7,200 | |
| Wexford Fulfillment | RelayWorks Business | $36,000 | $5,400 | |
| Brindle Home Delivery | RelayWorks Team | $22,000 | $3,300 |

Why the Brindle line is smaller than the referral
Brindle Home Delivery was referred at an estimated $26,000 and reduced its seats before signing. Finance waited for the signed order, which says $22,000, so the commission is $3,300 and not $3,900. Owner: Ruth Adebayo approves the line once the signed order is filed. Rule: Mei decided commission is approved only on the value in the signed order.

The three tiers
Requires: signed partner terms and one person starting the certification.
Gives: 15 percent commission on won referrals, the partner academy and referral credit for 90 days.
Corvane Digital and Fairmount Field Ops are Registered. Fairmount joined on Sep 29.
Requires: $50,000 won referral value in the last 12 months and one certified person.
Adds: leads from RelayWorks inbound demand, a named partner manager with a joint quarterly plan, and co-branded campaigns approved by RelayWorks marketing.
Northgate is Silver, with Cascade Freight Advisors and Tidewell Supply Chain Partners.
Requires: $200,000 won referral value in the last 12 months and three certified people.
Adds: first pick of leads in your region and events co-funded by RelayWorks.
Brightwater Fulfillment Consulting and Pallet & Pine Systems are Gold.
A partner moves up when it meets both requirements of the next tier and moves down only at the annual review, when it no longer meets the requirements of its own.
Northgate and Gold
Won value is about half way and certification is the larger gap: Gold needs three certified people and Northgate has one.
Live example from the Dashboards app, shown with Northgate Operations Advisory's demo data.
Lena Marsh is certified. Owen Pryce passed the first course and has the referral course left. Priya Nandakumar has not started. Owen once referred a company whose team was too small to use RelayWorks yet, which the referral course explains, so Mei decided referral reps complete the certification before joint calls.
Bonus on top of commission
Quarterly referral bonus
Each quarter RelayWorks pays $500 for each referral won that quarter with a signed value over $30,000, on top of commission. Claim it with the signed order summary. On Oct 2 Lena claimed the third quarter bonus for Wexford Fulfillment, won on Aug 28 at $36,000. Calder Freight Services, won on Jul 20 at $48,000, qualifies as well and has not been claimed yet. Brindle Home Delivery, at $22,000, is under the line.
The number on the signed order is the number we pay on. It is the one figure the partner, sales and finance all see the same way.
